Chitika announced today their new program, Chitika Linx which is a program that looks similar to kontera and inteliTXT.
If you don’t know how these ads work, think of a text link that whenever you put your mouse over it an advertisement pops out. From my experience those ads seem to have very high CTRs so I guess this will be a great alternative to use when it becomes public. By the way this type of advertisement is accepted by Google’s adsense TOS so we will be able to use it in pages that have google ads.

Just got an email announcement form adBrite, regarding their new program called “BritePic”. The BritePic is a new advertisement format which looks very good, and it seems - at least for the moment that people don’t recognize it as an ad - that it can convert well too.
The idea is simple. You are using BritePic’s javascript code to display a picture from your site, which will then display an advertisement when someone put the mouse over it. Bellow is an example :

SearchFeed is a Miva company that established back in 2000. Their publisher program is a little different from what most webmasters are used to, as they provide you with private label feeds, and pay you per click. So one thing that you need to know before starting with them, is that you need some programming knowledge, or an integration script (hopefully there are some free scripts to use with SearchFeed)
SearchFeed can’t be considered as a main network to use, but they are a great additional source of revenue, and you can use it in conjunction with any other network (eg. adsense)
Bellow are some pros and cons of using SearchFeed.
Pros :
Payments are fast (NET 20) and they use paypal to send you the money. Of course there is also an option for payments by cheque.
You get paid 35%-50% of clicks.
They have a huge number of advertisers, so you wont have availability problems with them.
You get paid for referring advertisers and publishers (2%-7%)
Their private label feed gives you the ability to brand your ads, and make them look the way you like.
SearchFeed can be used along with any other publisher program.
Real time reporting
Cons :
There are not so many high paying clicks, but I guess this is reasonable for a secondary network
They are paying for clicks only from USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark
As pros are more than the cons I guess it worths to work with this company, especially as you can use it with other networks too. Another cool thing is that you can actually create your own ppc search engine by using SearchFeed.
So if you want to try them yourself feel free to sign up here.

Recently I discovered a new technique which eliminates the impact of the smart pricing algorithm which have recently introduced by Google. As you may not know what smart pricing is, I will start with the basics :
Some time ago, the adwords added a new module for conversion tracking. That way advertisers can know which campaigns and keywords are converting better for their products.
In conjunction to this Google created the “smart pricing” algorithm which affects publishers. When the traffic you send to Google’s advertisers is not converting well, you get less earnings per click, while the advertiser gets discount to their campaign. The bad part of this is that smart pricing affects your whole account, so even well converting pages/sections of your site can have lower earnings.
As I’ve posted here I started an experiment which is actually very simple. I’ve removed all the low converting advertisements from my site, and got the same earnings with about 40% less impressions. This looks like a very good result as now I have a bigger advertising inventory to use with other programs, and maximize earnings.
If you want to join me in this experiment, just follow those easy steps :
First create custom channels for every section of your site
Wait a few days and see which channels have the best earnings per click
Remove all the ads from the low CPC channels
Don’t change anything for a few days or for about 10.000 impressions. This last part is because you need to have real results from your experiment
If you have any results please feel free to share them with us
