How I Made $21,496.95 in Just 2 Weeks!
Author: Nico BeekhuijsYou visited a few times and I would appreciate your thoughts on this post, why not comment?
And the sales are still rolling in! Let me show you the biggest secrets of Internet Marketing, you too can make this amount of money with only a few hours of work involved. If you order right now, I???ll even lower the price for this amazing report, filled with internet marketing???s closest guarded secrets, from $197 to just $7. You better act fast, before I come to my senses!
Oh, you know what? Scrap the $7 I???ll tell you everything for free!
We have all seen these sales pages over and over again, promising high rewards for very little work. The big question is can it really be done? I say: most definitely! I can even Photoshop e-mail you some screenshots with proof.
Seriously though, the numbers they are showing you can be achieved quite easily. Here???s the real secret though, a secret that no one is giving away: the $21,496.95 is the actual amount of money pulled in, what wasn’t mentioned is the rest of the finances of this operation, the costs.
Let’s see:
| affiliate commissions 70% | $15,047.87 |
| Paypal charges | $1,592.30 |
| aweber mailing list fee for two months | $89.60 |
| ghostwriter fees | $598.00 |
| landing page writer | $299.00 |
| web design | $645.00 |
| hosting and bandwidth charges | $299.00 |
| customer support staff | $1247.00 |
| online marketing costs | $1135.00 |
that leaves me with a net profit of $544.18 I think this is awesome, because now I only have to pay $272.09 in taxes instead of $10,748.47. What kind of tax notice would you rather get?
That was quite the disillusion, but there is hope! You can make very large profits with a product launch, but it takes a hell of a lot more work than they want you to believe. It also takes a lot of knowledge and practice, so don???t expect to pull in thousands of dollars on your first try. But hang in there and keep trying and eventually you can make the big bucks, making it all worth your while!

Great article! I’m sure there are in this whole system a view people making money with only a few hours work:
Paypal, Weber, the ad publisher and don’t forget the guy who sold the b…s.it

A lot of people don’t take all of that into consideration, which is really funny IMO.
Awesome post.

So the gross profit margin would be about 1.2%
Nico
from ONLIMA Online Marketing2007-10-03 13:28:19
That’s not very much, is it?
But you have to remember that this is with very little work involved. If you put more work in, you’ll have more profit. Just recalculate the profit if you do the web design, writing and customer support yourself.
The point is, you can make money by selling info products, but it takes a lot of work…

That’s a small profit margin but some of it is sunk cost, so I suppose if you run your campaign longer and try to lower some of the ongoing costs, you’ll be able to do better. How did you recruit all those affiliates?
Thanks for sharing.

Hock I think you missed Nico point, he was giving an example of how “gurus” out there inflate figures, the principle being that in fact the outgoing costs are never clearly indicated.

Tim, I agree that a lot of gurus mostly tell you the gross revenues without the costs involved. But my point about the ROI still stands. It is small compared to typical “infoproducts”.

Hock, I didn’t recruit any affiliates, in fact I didn’t even sell a product! All the numbers shown are imaginary numbers, but realistic ones nevertheless.
Sure, you could make the ROI better by looking where you can save some money, but again: this adds to the work involved. The whole point was to show all the pieces of the ’selling infoproducts puzzle’

Thats a nice profit for working 40 hours a month. When you say “Grand Total With All Advertising Companies” are you talking about pay-per-click ad programs like AdSense, Kontera, YPN and the likes?

I am wondering if there were any refunds. This will further lower the profit…

You only paid $300 for the landing page copy? No wonder your offer might not have converted like you wanted it too. Contact me if you want to figure out the emotional hot buttons of your prospect. Your writer might have done a good job but landing pages take work and research.
Just my two cents.
Good try though- you seem to have done a ton of the back end work, and the first time is the hardest.
