Good news for YPN publishers

Author: Nick Papanotas

YPN has just announced that they are going to use paypal for payments. Additionally publishers who opt in will enjoy a reduced payment threshold, from $100 to just $50.

I think those are great news for YPN publishers, and I wish Google will follow them. Of course this sounds more like a dream as Google wants to promote their checkout service, so I guess if they will want to respond to this they will probably use their system to send payments.

Paypal is a great solution, especcialy for those who are using some sort of arbitrage technique to promote their sites and earn money.

I guess you’re waiting on a second payment method because you need to wait on a check from Google.

I guess the checkout payment will not be available for the people here in Europe since the “full” account is at the moment only available for People with an US bank account. I think a wire transfer will be there first for most European countries (like in the Netherlands)

… first I like to have a YPN account, but I think I need to move to the US first. :(

if you want to advertise in UK and the US you need two Yahoo accounts !

(I guess it’s the same for the publisher network now or later)

This is an interesting development, paying via Paypal is more convenient and cost saving for smaller advertisers. But Google came out with Google CheckOut, it remains to be seen if Google is willing to use their CheckOut to faciliate their advertisers adsense payment. If yes, that would make competition between Google and Yahoo more interesting.
