I don't think any one who reads this article will follow it through (I hope not) It was simply a demonstration on how to you could easily spend a little more money and have a very profitable site legitimately within 6 months or spend a few more hours and reach the same scenario.

Interesting stuff.

I'm not sure i'd like to scam anyone though, but it does remind me that i must work on the content for my sites instead of putting it off!

If its to good to be true it normally is,
This scenario is aimed at people who buy sites looking to make a long term but instant investment, you are presenting them with the golden goose so to speak.

Sites that are 6 months old unless they are very good will not have masses of traffic but specifics to look out for:

High PR low relative links - very easy to achieve
Lots of seemingly organic traffic from Google or other site, yet no obvious reason for it.

If in doubt always ask to see several months worth of traffic, and a full break down of where it came and if your really not sure but really like the look of the domain, ask if you can place your tracking code on the site for a week ;)

Ultimately while buying sites is a great way to get started, you can easily imitate the above , minus the grey hat bits, and with a bit more work on the promotion site be in the same position 8 or 9 months down the line.

Interesting post Tim.

It looks like a scammer can easily sell a site like this.

Is there any proved method to avoid this when you are the buyer? What do you think?
